About Aseda

Aseda (A-SEED-A) means gratitude. We believe in expressing gratitude by minimizing any negative impact we might have on our planet, through a sustainable and eco-friendly approach.

The glass jars used to distribute our raw organic honey can be reused or recycled. The labels are printed on recycled materials. The simple act of re-using jars reduces waste from landfills and saves energy needed to recycle the glass.

Our single serving energy packs are made with 100% renewable energy. The outside part is made from recycled materials and printed with vegetable based ink. The inside is a food grade foil. This simple package creates 85% less waste than a package that could be recycled.

Our Commitment

  • To operate from a position of sustainability, product ingenuity and community reciprocation
  • ghana-flag-raw-honey-FINAL
"5% of sales for the Villages of Molé" is a unique program created by Aseda. Working cooperatively with the Dagomba tribal people in the northern region of Ghana, we promote sustainable bee keeping in the interest of the people themselves. A bee keepers association, consisting of elected representatives of area villages, identifies village projects that promote education, self-sufficiency and tribal solidarity. Aseda dedicates 5% of product sales directly to the bee keepers association.

"1% For the Planet" exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. Aseda is a member of this growing global movement of companies that donate 1% of our sales to a network of 2,507 environmental organizations worldwide. Last year 1,250 member companies gave $15 million to hundreds of organizations that promote clean air, pure water, safe food and wild places for our precious mother Earth.
  • true-raw-100
Our True Raw™ badge ensures that what you are eating is the finished product of the bees as mother nature intended. Our product is never cooked or pasturized, preserving its natural nutritional benefits as a truly raw harvest.

From our fully recycled Aseda Wild Raw Honey energy packs, to our commitment to the environment, bee population and tribal solidarity, we are committed to expressing our gratitude and creating a positive impact in our world.

Aseda's Connection to Ghana

Anthony Nana and Village Chief

In 2009 Aseda's Founder, Anthony Baron Kirk, traveled to Ghana to meet with Oheneba Nana Kwasi Agyemang, Chief to the Kyidomhene. Through this meeting a relationship was created between Aseda and various Dagomba villages that raise native Ghanaian honey bees in the Molé National Forest.

Aseda now works with the Dagomba to help preserve their tribal culture and environment while sharing their raw wild honey with the rest of the world.
